CFAST (cosmetically focussed adult straight teeth)
What is CFAST?
Cfast is a simple, gentle, minimally invasive cosmetic treatment that corrects alignment issues with the top and bottom front six teeth. CFAST aligns and levels the teeth which satisfies the needs of the vast majority of adult patients who seek orthodontic treatment.
Cfast uses clear orthodontic brackets and tooth-coloured wires. The tooth movement is faster and more predictable than clear aligner therapy which makes it a good alternative option for people wanting straight teeth in a more restricted time frame as the average case is complete within 3-6 months.
How does it work?
The nickel-titanium wires put gentle pressure on the brackets which are attached to the teeth. This pushes or pulls the tooth onto a new more aesthetic position.
Benefits of CFAST
Align the teeth and gums for an improvement in overall appearance of the teeth and smile
Shorter treatment time than clear aligner therapy
Can be done quickly as it only focuses on the “social six” front teeth that most influence the smile
More affordable than some other orthodontic options
Almost invisible
Limitations of CFAST
Does not correct extensive orthodontic issues
More visible than clear aligner therapy
How will CFAST look?
The brackets are clear and hold tooth coloured wires in place. This system is less prone to staining then white ceramic brackets used by other systems which results in a more “hidden” appearance.
